Addictions

I LOVE ETSY!  I'm totally addicted.  I was browsing the forums just now and found a post about upcycling.  WhatItSeams had many great responses on the thread, including this great bag which is tempting me to brew a cup and here it is 1:00 in the morning!

But, I'll need it since I just opened up my very own Etsy shop!!!   And, as of this minute, there are only 3 items listed, but I'm adding more through the night.  Stop by and let me know what you think.

What, you thought it would have to do with laundry?

Momfessions

"Momfession" #1 - I'm blogging right now and the kids are not sleeping.  Usually, I reserve blogging for nap or nightime, but right now everyone is content on their own (see next momfession), so here I am.

#2 - My 2 year old is happily watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse video for about the 4th time today.  Not that he has watched the whole thing 4 times, but it's been playing nearly non-stop.  Before you think I just "plopped" him in front of the TV and said, "Sit. Stay." Let me tell you, it's worse - I gave in to his constant repeating and whining, "Mickey...Mickeey..Mickeeeeey!"

#3 - Said 2 year old is not big on veggies.  He will eat the baby food jars of green beans, but rarely the "real thing."  He didn't want to eat the corn on his plate for lunch the other day, so I stirred it into his strawberry yogurt.  He scarfed it all up without even a blink.  If YoBaby Meals can add veggies, why not this mom?

#4 - This same little 2 year old LOVES juice.  And, we being naive new-ish parents, kept filling glass after glass all day long and wondering why wet poop was seeping out of his shorts on a daily basis.  Poor daycare provider kept trying to suggest we get to the bottom of it, and finally it hit me!  Maybe it's all this juice. So, now when he's screaming for juice (because he's 2 and that's what they do) I just pretend to poor the juice in his cup - and it pleases him.  I don't even take the lid off the jug or his sippy, but it works nonetheless.

#5 - Onto the baby.  I'm racked with guilt about how I ate so much junk and drank coffee throughout my pregnancy with her whereas I was sooo careful the first time around.  And I'm breastfeeding and still indulge in a cup or two a of high-test most days of the week.  If she were showing signs of it bothering her, I would quit...but she never seems bothered.

My chest feels lighter now.  Share some of your momfessions..

Laundry Basket - Load 1

Welcome to the first load in the "Laundry Basket" where I feature what creative moms are doing with their laundry.

I love "before & afters."  If you do too, you can get your fill at Something Old to Something New.  You'll be impressed by the work this new mom has featured in the 12 days since starting her blog, which follows her journey of turning old clothes into new creations to make clothes fun again (all while the baby naps)!  As she says, "No one said a stay at home mom can't dress fun."

I also love photo tutorials.  We're in luck - she shows pictures of the steps she takes along the way with each project.

Loving this skirt-to-bag transformation!

Go give this crafty and resourceful mom some comment love!

Navigating the Web

As if going into work wasn't hard enough, I get to weave my way through an every growing tangle of dirty sticky webbing and fight off huge ugly spiders at the office entry.  Yes, they really are HUGE.  And ugly.  God must indeed be a man because if God was a woman, she would have made spiders pink, and sparkly.  They'd live longer.

Oh, Hello!  I'm Jen.  Mom to 2 under 2 and wife of a hardworking WAHM (let's be clear, I do live in VT, but that's WAHM as in work-at-home-Man.)  I almost wrote WAHD (but that sounds like I'm calling him a name) and besides, work-at-home-dad implies that he stays at home with the kids all day.  insert laugh track

And I guess as far as acronyms go, I'm a WOHM, but I've never been comfortable with all those titles (WAHM, SAHM, thank you ma'am.)  Whether mom or dad are working inside or outside the home, for self or for someone else, we're all working and we all have the challenges & stress that come with juggling it all.  I could go on and on and that's another story.  Wait, actually, it's the whole story.

As I was saying earlier, going to work has become an ugly struggle.  It's why I've started Faith, Hope & Laundry.  I need a place to sort it out, to escape, to inspire, to be inspired, to share, to dare!  Join me as I navigate the web.  With a lots of faith, hope, and laundry along the way!
